LCD projection TV Unlike DLP rear projection TV, inside an LCD
projection TV, light from a lamp is directed to 3 small LCD panels that process the red, green, and blue light components
separately. The pixels in each panel regulate the amount
of light passing through them by twisting and untwisting in response to tiny electrical voltages. Then the three colored beams are combined by a prism and projected onto your screen by a lens.
One advantage to LCD projection TV over non-LED based DLP TVs is that LCD projection TVs are not susceptible to the "rainbow effect" that some viewers sometimes experience as scenes transition from black to white while watching non-LED DLP projection TVs.
The best way to know for sure whether to go with an LCD, DLP, or LCOS projection TV is to read lots of rear projection TV reviews before
you buy yours. |
